And Your Little Levity Too
It’s been forty-three weeks since Suzy’s unfortunate, close encounter with a vehicle in motion. Between working full-time, participating in Suzy’s recovery every day, and advocating for Suzy in various ways, the last several weeks have been incredibly busy for me. It’s been hard to find time to write updates for the website. But there’s always time for silly jokes.
Here are some “highlights” to enjoy.

Inspirational History: A Thousand Voices
On the night of January 24, 1961, a man was driving his Aston Martin on Sunset Blvd. As he rounded a turn ominously known as "Dead Man’s Curve," an 18-year-old college student driving in the opposite direction lost control of his vehicle and slammed head-on into the sports car.

April Fools @ TOMS, 2015
The start of October reminds me of this video Suzy produced (and starred in) for TOMS back in 2015.

Flashback: My Wedding Vows to Suzy
Suzy --- we grew up less than a mile apart. We explored the same hallways in middle school. We rode the same Muni busses to many of the same San Francisco destinations…

Flashback: Our Tenth Anniversary
Suzy and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in 2020. It was a somewhat subdued celebration, since we were trying to avoid Covid-19!
This is what she posted about our ten years of marriage.
Levity
Suzy’s injuries are serious business that will take years to recover from. That said, moping is not productive or especially entertaining. Sitting in hospital rooms, waiting rooms, treatment rooms, or really any room while marinating in stress is not healthy. And this is Happytown, not Tragi-city — dammit!

Rebuilding Together
When Suzy and I posed for this photo in September, 2022, we could not imagine that nearly everything pictured would be so dramatically changed less than one year later.

The Other Shoe
It was a lazy Sunday morning in the middle of the long Presidents’ Day weekend. We already had tickets to see the Oscar Nominated Short Films — Animation at 12:50pm and Live Action at 3:10pm — at the newly renovated NuArt Theater on Santa Monica Blvd. about two miles from our house.

What happened on February 19, 2023
On Sunday, February 19, 2023, Suzy was struck by a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the road near our home in Los Angeles, CA.
